PASAY CITY, Philippines -- The relatively unknown Akbay Pinoy OFW National Inc. or Apoi has topped in the canvassing of overseas absentee voting results in 14 countries where partylist elections were held.
Akbay Pinoy garnered 290 votes.
The leftwing partylist group Gabriela placed second with 162 votes, followed by Akbayan with 126, and Bayan Muna with 121.
Buhay and Cibac, which are associated with religious groups El Shaddai and Jesus is Lord, got 17 and 94 respectively.
Bantay, which has controversial retired major general Jovito Palparan as a nominee, got 11 votes.
The tallied results came from Bahrain, Thailand, India, The Netherlands, Palau, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria, South Korea, Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, and Laos.
